Bettering Clinical Trials for a Diverse, Equitable Future
The American Society of Hematology (ASH) is undertaking an initiative aimed at increasing innovation and diversity in clinical trials. This initiative aligns with ASH's mission to combat inequities, support scientists and clinicians, and embrace diverse voices across the patient and health care communities.

Your Expertise Matters
As a respected member of the scientific community engaged in clinical trials, your insights into DEI are pivotal. We invite you to participate in a research study and share your journey from the conceptualization of trials to their dissemination, shedding light on the tools, tactics, and innovative approaches you have employed to promote diversity and inclusivity in past trials. Your unique perspective will empower ASH to develop comprehensive resources that resonate with the dynamic needs of trialists in the pursuit of a more equitable and effective approach to clinical trials. Beyond addressing the current industry standards, ASH seeks to elevate your experiences and expertise, creating a collaborative platform that goes beyond the traditional confines of medical research.

Shaping Tomorrow's Trials, Today
Participating in this brief one-time survey, requiring just 5 minutes of your time, ensures your perspectives shape the future of clinical trials. Participation is voluntary and there is no penalty for not participating. There are no known risks to participating in this research survey, aside from small risk of breach of confidentiality. Our study staff will protect your records so that your personal information will be kept confidential to the extent allowed by law. This information will not be released to anyone outside of authorized personnel. However, research information that identifies you may be shared with the UAB Institutional Review Board (IRB) and others who are responsible for ensuring compliance with laws and regulations related to research and the Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP). The information from the research may be published for scientific purposes; however, your identity will not be given out.

Your input will be instrumental in defining the trajectory of ASH's initiative. Together, let's redefine the standards and make a lasting impact on the future of medical research. Thank you for being a driving force in transforming clinical research to benefit all communities. If you have any questions concerning the research study, please contact Alice Kuaban at either 202-292-6014 or akuaban@hematology.org.
